If you refer to the "hinge-style" tool to crack open a compact once you have removed 
the four screws, IMHO
you don't need it. That's how I do it with my Classic/Classic II: I remove the screws, 
I lay it on my bed or
in a couch with the screen facing down, I grab the "handle" on the top of the case and 
shake it gently until
the back side separates from the front. Then I can remove it without problem.
