Without modification, hacking or other tweaks, MacOS 8 officially requires an 040 chip.
Resedit and other hacks will make it work on an 030...

No its doesn't, it will run on a 030 - read gambas site.
For what its worth a 030 amiga will emulate a 040 under the mac OS meaning no hacks required for 8.1, it will also run 040 apps which a real mac chokes on.
