I can email and internet with 4MB of RAM on my Classic using a ny number of modems I have, a Global Village Platinum, A US Robotics Sportster 33.6, A Supra Express 33.6.
You don't need to settle for a Personal Modem. That Mac's got a quick Modem serial port.
I doubt the Classic fully uses the 33.6 still its nice to have the horsepower.
