That's the point of a streaming protocol: with a streaming protocol the
acks and error correction codes are sent out of sync, and with a *MODEM
protocol you can reduce the error checking to a parity calculation... a
68000 should be able to handle parity at full speed.

well both zterm and blacknight look like they will work on a 68000, I wonder I'f I can find the cables to give you a result. Thanks for a far better explanation.
