I was wondering if anyone has used a 68000 Mac as an X Server or a VNC
Client, I have just tried the MI/X X server program and it complains
about not having enough memory. I have a Classic with 4MB.

I know that the single bit screen will present it's own issues but a
reasonable xterm is all I am after.

The docs for early versions of MacX (from Apple) say that the app will run on anything with 2MB free RAM so it should work with a Classic. White Pines eXodus from the same era (early 1990s) should have the same hardware requirements.

For VNC on a beefy 68K Mac (eg IIfx), http://www.chromatix.uklinux.net/vnc/instructions.html sounds good but I've not tried it. I doubt whether it will be much fun on a Classic, however.
