You should go download the old QNX demo then, and try it on a random Net-attached PC. Complete multitasking GUI OS with web browser and TCP/IP stack on a single bootable floppy. Start up and go online from 1.4MB of software. It does a lot more than System 6 does and it does it on x86... Not that I'm dissing System 6, but trying to get my Classic II doing everything it can under MacOS 7.6.1 under 6.0.8 is proving... fraught. I has forgotten how much changed in System 7. 6 is really pretty basic.
