Hi Mike, I asked the question about these drives as I was considering installing one into my Color Classic. The general consensus was that they run way to hot to even contemplate enclosing one in a precious compact Mac :)
Someone (sorry, I forget who) said they had one installed in a PowerMac 7X00 and needed to provide a fan to keep the thing at a manageable temperature. I hope this helps.
