The capacitors used are the same size, capacity, and voltage: about 20 microfarads and 16 volts except for C6 (SE/30) which is much smaller at 1 microfarad and 5 volts. Two of the capacitors are on 12 volt power traces and need the 16 volt rating. The others are on the 5 volt bus and do not. I surmise that Apple found it cheaper to use all the same values for inventory. I changed two to tantalum caps and I was able to determine where I could use 10 volt 22 microfarad units and where I needed the higher voltage and could tolerate lower capacity. Actually I turned the box on and measured the voltages. I have been planning a summary of that but I have lost my notes. I may have to take apart a working SE/30 to refresh my memory. I shall report right soon now. -- --> From the U S of A, the only socialist country that refuses to admit it. <-- -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
