RANT: (not directed at you) A while back a lister posted a link to another
blog-type site like Jaghouse and Applefritter uses, set up for old Macs.
These are much better for this kind of troubleshooting and while I do not
want drive traffic from LEM and I realize these lists have there charm, ALL
of the questions being asked here have been covered one way or another in
the last 6 weeks. There is endless repeating of issues and solutions. Until
the format of this list is updated, I suggest we all take a look at the
archive section, the link found at the bottom of every posting. I just
rediscovered it and realized it's pretty current and completely searchable.
That keeps the troubleshooting to a minimum and directed to specific
problems, while the general solutions which have been expertly discussed in
some detail in the past will solve most of the basic problems and be more
productive for everyone.

Bravo, imagine you've been here more than 6 years rather than 6 months. Just the FAQ's cover most topics discussed here while the archive covers most of the rest. Still we must keep posting as people need traffic through their in-box and panic if 22 hours goes past without something. A semi-serious test message, what a load. :) :( Be sure to always post a complete faq link relating to a topic, the nanny gets upset at me if I just post http://macfaq.org/index.shtml just me, lucky I guess.

Thank you all for a very informative thread not fully covered by either.

The Lem site is seriously in need of updating and has been for sometime. everymac.com can be more informative as can a number oif others. Dont feel too bad sending people elsewhere, LEM doesn't even host these lists or have any control of the server or misuse there of. I guess the minor advertising helps Dan out and helps keep the site running. :)
