You could (if have a newer mac) hook up any of the IDE hard drives to Mac (or a PC if you prefer it) and use a DOD-like erasing program if your extremely paranoid (doing several passes)! I know of a program for OS 9 called ShredIt (http://www.mireth.com/pub/sime.html) that may be up your alley. Then after erasing the HD (probably several passes later) you can then reinstall the appropriate OS on the system so they are as good as new!
