Unfortunately the http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~sarvatt/lp740126/ does not fix it for me.
I just had a lockup where the screen was not refreshed anymore except for the cursor. As before, applications seem to get events (mouse cursor changes when I scroll in the foreground firefox window), but I don't see any more changes on the screen. What has changed is the window content.
