With some mouse acrobatics, Anki is at least usable with Unity: A screen redraw is achieved when clicking on the middle of the top panel.
It is not fun though, because one has to do it after each click on "Show Answer" or "Easy/Medium/Hard". I favor the Ubuntu Classic workaround.
