The problem with the name "eZ Components" is that everybody thinks that it's a product of eZ Systems. Such relations are often hindering if you want to talk about it on conferences and similar. Those people have the attitude that "$company can pay for their marketing talks". It also keeps some contributors away from the project, who "don't want to work for free for $company". With the name change we wanted to make clear, that the project is independent now to avoid such misconceptions.
