I tried them both and the Digital Mars compiler was better for Lazarus at the time. D may not be 1.5 slower for everything, it just happened to be slower for that particular program. A D advocate sent me an email and indicated that D has slow garbage collection issues, but I recently read that it has a new garbage collector and that there have been some optimizations in other areas. So my imformation is out of date - it's probably better than that now. I know that the author of D has not emphasized optimizations but I think he is now that it has reached version 1.0 and beyond. - Don > Urban > - -- > http://bettong.net > > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (Darwin) > > iD8DBQFGDq5xggNuVCIrEyURAoZ2AKCfKqe1dajmY+4wKuEF1DA/wPlAFACaA87M > fTZ05G7wiz1/otsPWAdQ2fw= > =6stt > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ computer-go mailing list [email protected] http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/
