My general sense is that performance hasn't improved drastically. I know a particularly nasty leak in garbage collection was fixed, but not all code triggered it. If it was triggered you'd run out of memory, so I don't think you hit this in your previous test. But I don't know the details for all the performance fixes. You can check the Changelog. But I think the easiest thing to do is just download the latest compiler and re-run your test. You could also profile it to see where the slowdown is vs the C code. Is there a hotspot or just a general slowdown? How much time is being spent in the garabage collector? Actually I'm not sure if the last question can be easily answered. I know it can in Java, my language of choice (shows you what I care about performance vs C!) Anyways, your inquiries are best directed to the D newsgroup. I can't do them justice. -Jeff _______________________________________________ computer-go mailing list [email protected] http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/
