GNU Go knows if the game is mirror-go or not, and "decide" to break
it when a sufficent number of moves is reached

in Torino for ICGA tournament some years ago, one go program was
playing only mirror-go and pass when playing mirror was impossible
(the student was starting his PhD and came mainly for conferences,
he had no time to develop his program)

iirc this program lost all its games, but it was interesting to
check games. I guess strong players / developpers will see more
things than me.

some detect symetry and know how to break it.
