I don't see how that is a problem.   "Exactly the same code"  is not a
serious limitation is it?    Even if you make improvement every day to the
program it makes sense to play the same version and get it rated,  then
introduce a new version and get it rated later.   It takes a few months to
provide a substantial improvement and it's possible that you will introduce
a serious bug than makes it significantly weaker along the way and just
needlessly feed rating points to people.
