Backup up your data and install a new drive.  Some of the hard drives
you can get now are very inexpensive ($40.00) for a whole lotta gigs.
I'd dump that drive and get a new one.  Much better than losing
everything.  Did you try what Dentist suggested?  It was some solid
advice.  That may fix your problems.  If not here's a link to get you
