Did the mobo come with a separate disk for SATA controller? Might even say RAID controller. My Dell servers at work do the same thing, you have to run their bootable disk first, it runs a Linux shell installing the drivers. Then it says "Insert Install Disk" I pop in the Windows disk then continue building server 03 from their. But if I don't load that disk, it doesn't recognize any drives at all... Your board may have something similar, If this is not the case, I'd return it.
