On a happier note, I actually spent time today and found the manual for this specific mobo. Read through the first like 80 pages of this thing....
You can connect 1 sata driver per connector. The sata drives should appear in BIOS and need to set them to AHCI or IDE mode.... Inside BIOS, in integrated peripherals, go into On-Chip ATA devices, make sure RAID MODE is set to AHCI or IDE. Try hooking up 6 SATA drives, see if they work. Make sure all the power is connected to each drive. Make sure all 6 drives work individually. If that doesn't work, then go into the board RAID BIOS, try to add 1 drive to a RAID array, spanning, striping, it should allow you to do one or the other. So basically you are using RAID, but only creating an array for each drive. After that go into windows START > RUN > diskmgmt.msc see if the drives are listed there?
