Hey Dude,

I am Sorry to inform you that the Segate 500Gb SATA HDD is complaint
product....
I bought the same and 3 times it crashed within 4 months...
And the worst thing is that Segate will give you a new HDD within 4 working
days but all your old data would be lost as they* won't give warranty
instead guarantee only*...

So the HDD will be *replaced instead of repaired* so the data would be
lost..

And now the commercial distribution of it is also stopped..

In your case It seem to be a *HDD board problem * [my first time failure]
as there no sound while working as well as it is spinning but the BIOS
won't detect it then nothing can be done in this case through software
part..

It will be a hard ware issue. If the vendor dose not repair and so the data
will be lost in that case you can try this If your data is very important ..
One thing u can do is that you may try swapping the board [not 100%
guaranteed success] on the HDD with an another same specification HDD and
then copy the data back to another HDD and then give it for
replacing..Make sure that you get a good assistance from a technical guy
other wise the guaranty will be lost..

So i am now using my old 250 Gb HDD that is much reliable...
