Jem I'm going to assume that you have xp but vista has similar
instructions...for future reference including make, model, and OS is
at least what should be provided to help with most problems.

Your manufacturer installed drivers for your computer before they gave
it to you. Somewhere along the way the drivers may have gotten
corrupted, which is why they are asking you to try reinstalling them.

Right click your My Computer icon, choose manage. In the left pane
click on the category device manager. On the right look for video(or
display) and choose your video driver. Right click, uninstall. Then
look for an icon towards the top that says scan for new hardware(or
hardware changes). This should scan you computer for the driver you
just uninstalled, and reinstall it.

If this does not help just do the other stuff kwikone suggested.
