I would not bother investing in 64-bit Vista, if you're gonna invest
in Vista at all. I wouldn't. I would wait and get Windows 7. Vista is
a terrible OS, I am still using Windows XP until I decide to change to
Windows 7.

64 is better then 32 yes, but I wouldn't get it for Vista.

As for your question about drivers, Yes, manufacturers of peripherals
that are 64-bit compatible will provide you with the necessary drivers
for them.
