I know this stupid problem is so annoying, i don't know what causes it exactly but i can give you few things i know might be the problem..
-Flash.. flash some times freeze firefox or make it slow.. specially like flash animations or flash games.. simply flash that needs lots of processing, i think its a bug in firefox.. restarting firefox should fix it (ofcourse if this is the problem).. but some times firefox doesnt really close, keep an eye on task manager and make sure firefox ends after you closed it, otherwise ull get a notification box when you try to start firefox again saying that its still running and you need to wait till it closes or restart ur system (or ofcourse end the process ur self lol) -svchost.exe.. this system exe file some times goes bad somehow and then you'll find it going up to 99% processing for no reason.. and this also freezes things some times.. actually i don't know how to fix it but i remember trying some batch file i downloaded online couple of years ago and it did fix it. -addons.. try disabling un needed addons on firefox, cause you said you had 2GB ram.. firefox goes crazy after staying on for sometime and starts sucking too much ram for no reaosn.. again restarting firefox fixes this.. for some time only ofcourse. -if all fails try chrome lol, its uses the less ram than firefox and IE and it starts fast.. but i should tell you that chrome doesn't handle plugins so well (flash and java applets) they did that on perpose to raise the stability of the browser it self but i guess it affected this, plugins fails often but the browser it self wont crash.. they made them sort of independent, but chrome is way better with web applications and javascript. sorry if i wasn't that much of help good luck ~Coalwater~ On Fri, Oct 23, 2009 at 10:41 PM, DaveyBrasco <[email protected]> wrote: > > A few little things I have forgotten. > > I am using Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3 > > I have not modified any of the interneal settings of firefox, however > I do have some add-ons installed. > > I am using a wireless Internet connection, however I am using this on > my desktop as well, so this should be irrelevant. > > > --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Computer Tech Support" group.
