Highly recommended to upgrade your memory to allow for larger memory
cache
which means the video can come from cache instead of having to wait to
get more
pieces of it (thus giving that choppy look) into memory for use by the
video card from it's source.
BUT... you said video online! Did you mean video from over the
internet?
If so then the major limiting factor will not be your system but will
be your internet connection
speed (and even that can be helped out by more than 512MB main
memory).
And if you want to upgrade your processor speed - it won't hurt but it
won't necessarily help.
For example, if the CPU is running at less than 85% utilization while
playing the video then
upgrading the processor will only provide marginal improvement in
playing capability.
