Thanks Coalwater. I did in fact use the F5 key to choose the display mode. In fact I have tried hooking my laptop up using a 3.5mm jack to the LCD TV and an S-Video cable and this combination works, leading me again to believe that the cable is the issue...UNLESS the configuration for component cabling varies from S-Video?
