Forgot to add: John D's suggestion about checking forged sites or RSS feeds sounds like the most likely culprit. FF calls them "Live Bookmarks" and if you have a lot of them there could be an effect when they update. I don't know the update interval. Anyone know if that's in about:config?
A quick diagnostic would be to start FF with the -p option to launch profile manager, create a new profile, run it, and see if the new profile has the same problem. The new profile won't have your bookmarks or extensions. On 7/19/07, P Yasuda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Did you install the Google Browser Sync extension? That will cause freezes while it does its thing, usually limited to when you are starting up and shutting down FF. It's worst on my G5 iMac. I live with it because I love it. Keeping bookmarks in sync across multiple systems has been a big problem for me. The other thing to do is start FF with all extensions disabled and see if the problem goes away. On 7/19/07, b_s-wilk < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Do you have a clean backup of the preferences?
