BINGO! That is exactly the case and most any new Mac will do the job just 
fine. The more important choice is the software and the system 
integration. With Windows it is entirely possible to spend so much time 
on trying to get the thing running that the project never gets started.

Have her take a look at the new big iMac. A lovely piece of hardware that 
will work right out of the box.

Many Apple stores have evening tutorials on FCP. She should go.
