Using your own logic, if YouTube uses Flash, then Flash it is. The thing with Flash is that it is as close to universal as anything is ever going to be. A lot more universal than WMV. A lot more reliable too. >Yes, pro video people use wmv9 all the time these days for many purposes. I >*am* one so I can talk. A pro would be more likely to use H.264/MPEG4. WMV9 is MS's latest "me too" version of digital video. In true MS fashion WMV9 comes in a variety of flavors some of which are incompatable. Its DRMed version doesn't even work on the Zune. >Flash _video_ is *not* older than .wmv, nor even >wmv9 which is when I started using it (and is all I'm talking about). >BTW wmv9 video has been approved as a standard by SMPTE (they call it VC-1). One of several similar standards. Getting standardized does not mean that it is good, just that it has been codified. All the current standards are related to MPEG4 and MEPG4 is just Apple QuickTime standardized. ************************************************************************ * ==> QUICK LIST-COMMAND REFERENCE - Put the following commands in <== * ==> the body of an email & send 'em to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <== * Join the list: SUBSCRIBE COMPUTERGUYS-L Your Name * Too much mail?
