Just want to clarify this statement. My first reading was that AAC is the ONLY mode which the Nano or Shuffle can handle. But I think you only meant Lossless is not. Certainly they can handle MP3 formats as well.

Also, if you have ripped CDs in the WMA format (i.e. you used Windows Media Player before), iTunes will automatically convert to AAC when you use File ==> Add Folder to Library.
