That should be the easy part. Assuming that your " sound card " (
do garden variety PCs really require a third party sound card these
days ? ) has a mini plug line input port, and your using the
venerable Revox A77 simply obtain a stereo RCA to stereo miniplug
patch cable, connect the output of the Revox to the input of the
computer, make the line input active in your Windoze sound control
panel and open your sound recording program du jour, Audacity or what
have you. If you have a separate USB sound input device you will need
to install and configure it's own drivers, software, what ever but
the hardware connections between the tape deck and the sound input
device should be similar. Make a test transfer or three to check
levels and your in business. If your recording program fails to see
any incoming audio check the programs' own input settings to be sure
that the software has taken note of the line input setting for the
computer hardware. Software is cranky that way - even ( gasp! ) on
Macs.
The Revox works when I turn it on. I am just trying to figure out,
how to transfer the tapes to my computer, via my soundcard.
