1. I have switched to FF 3, even though it is still beta (maybe RC now). Much faster. Downside is some of your favorite add-ons may not work with FF 3 yet.
2. Profiles can get corrupted. Some add-ons may be corrupted or interfere with each other or have problems. 3. Try running "firefox --ProfileManager" and creating a new, blank profile. Probably you will find everything smoother and faster when using Gmail, etc. It may be worthwhile going to a new profile and copying over what you need from the old one (like your bookmarks).
