I would say no, I like having the mail format. Going web-based, you have to go to the site and open up the forum, find the thread and post a reply. Not a burden, but with email, it's right here. KISS.
OTOH, going with a web-based solution eliminates the broken mess that is email today and ensures that the data gets through.
