I am running 10.4.11 and do not have this problem. I run Thunderbird,
but not Audio Hijack (I use WireTap Pro) and Sunbird (I am now looking
at it thanks to you). What OS are you running? Do you know if you have
always had this problem or is it new?

There is a curiosity I've noticed lately. Beside the symbols for the
Thunderbird, Sunbird, and Audio Hijack applications in Activity
Monitor, it calls the process name (null) instead of their names.
These apps seem to be working properly and quitting them a restarting
them does not help. I did a little Googling and did not find anything
helpful except that the system is not recognizing their names.
Does anyone know what's going on?
