Two Verizon sales guys were out today selling FIOS. During the
conversation, they announced that that analog Cox cable TV was going
to go away as of February 2009.
Analog BROADCASTS are going away as of February 2009.
I don't know if this means analog cable is going away.
I suspect that it is, eventually, but I have no knowledge of what
Cox plans to do with its network.
I have a lot of respect for Verizon and was half considering going
with their FIOS, but with this type of sales tactics, they lose
credibility in my view.
I'm sorry if Verizon misrepresented anything regarding a
competitor. Our business ethics model does not permit
speculation on, misrepresentation, or deprecation of our
competitor's services or plans.
We compete based on the strengths of our products, period.
Am I missing something and or am I misinformed?
I do not know what you were told or what another company
plans to do. I can tell you what Verizon's game plan is and
how we are delivering our product.
I will say that anyone who works for Verizon that is found
to badmouth a competitor is subject to discipline up to and
including dismissal.
