If you have it hooked up to your network, I am sure it is a series
2. Series 2 and above have the capabilities to hook them up to the network.
I have two. One is a humax (says so on the remote) I am not sure of
the branding of the other, but the humax is a 40 hour single
tuner. The other one is a dual tuner 80 hour.
I do like the season pass feature a lot. I do not even have to reset
my season passes from last season it automatically picks them up.

I bought mine used so that may have made a difference as it was
already operational when I got it. I don't know what is required to
activate one. It's a Toshiba Digital Media Server SD-H400. It is not
hooked up to the Internet or phone line. All I can do with it is
program it manually to record and/or watch "delayed live TV" to scan
past the commercials. I can't use any of the special features that
TIVO advertises or that are included with the Toshiba. But it serves
my needs well.
