Sophisticated folks will know and do what you recommend below.  For the 
unsophisticated folks, better that they have an automatically-enabled, OS 
manufacturer-supplied malware scanner than nothing at all.  The box vendor can 
make his own decision as to what he wants to bundle and support with his 
machines.
