mainly because it is already installed when the system is loaded/reloaded.
Since the hackers attack Windows most often, it makes sense for Microsoft to
attempt to slow the assault via free software. If they are successful, then
the result will be a better reputation for Windows. If they fail, then
OS-X will gain market share, and attract new hackers.
OS-X is rooted in Unix... Unix not designed for security... only simplicity
and elegance.
