Did you try opening Mail, preferences, general, select your "default
mail reader"?

A friend of mine keeps forwarding formatted email from Mac
Mail. It
arrives in my mail as a collection of disjointed pictures
and broken
links, with full headers. I use Thunderbird for my email

forwards
email by clicking on the Forward button in the toolbar. I

Is there a MIME setting in prefs to fix that? The default
format is RTF,
which is odd, since it's nonstandard for email. I never
liked Mac Mail.
This gives me another reason to dislike it even more. I
don't think it's
Yahoo email problem because hers are the only messages I
receive like
that.
