Over the long term will WMP or VLC be more a reliable choice? "VLC is open source with developers all over the world contributing..." It would be very difficult for someone to hijack VLC and have it do obnoxious things to its users. If someone tried the most that would happen is the product forking, leaving the bad guys behind. WMP is proprietary and belongs to a company with a track record of manipulating its software to extract every last advantage. It is quite likely that at some point the product will be abandoned for something more profitable or changed to do obnoxious things to its users (draconian DRM etc.). By all means you should stick with "safe" WMP. ************************************************************************* ** List info, subscription management, list rules, archives, privacy ** ** policy, calmness, a member map, and more at http://www.cguys.org/ ** *************************************************************************
