Here is a question for all that is not intended to create havoc, but rather just to analyze what the truth of the matter is. Is there more of a propensity for computer users to want to switch from a Mac to a Windows machine or to move from a Windows machine to a Mac for their personal use in a home environment? For the sake of this question, it is assumed the person was already using one or the other. Let me put the question another way. Is it more likely that a person using a Macintosh at home for personal use will want to switch to Windows because of dissatisfaction with the Mac platform, or is it more likely that a Windows user will move to Macintosh for the same reason?
I realize that there are variables to be considered, and this is not a "one size fits all" scenario. However, personally speaking, I know of no one who has ever said that they dumped Macintosh for personal use because they became overly frustrated with that platform. I do, however, know many folks who switched to Macintosh from Windows for that very reason. Does anyone here know of someone who claimed that they became so tired of various sorts of issues with a Macintosh that they just couldn't wait to get a Windows machine? I don't. How about someone who became so upset about problems with Macintosh that they just couldn't wait to switch to Windows? FWIW, how about a switch to or from Linux for the same reasons as outlined above?
