I figured that someone would would pretty quickly bring up the fact that there are more Windows users than Mac users as being the reason that more folks switch to Macs than the other way around. However, the initial question was not how many, but rather what is the propensity to make the switch. Now, you can change the question if you want to base it upon market share instead. However, in that vein, wouldn't one suspect that would mean that far more Mac users would have a propensity for switching to Windows if market share proves which is the superior computing experience? As for you, do you know of any Windows users who, for personal use, not mandated by their job, have switched to a Mac? How about how many Mac users have, for personal use, not mandated by their job, have switched to Windows? In either case, and following the original question, said switch was made because of dissatisfaction with the operating environment. Mike said that tinkering was his reason to change to Windows. He did not say he was dissatisfied with the operating environment or found it to be troublesome, which in all cases I am aware of, was the reason for a switch to a Macintosh and even to Linux in a case or two.
