Regulators like the SEC will never stop a Bernie Madoff. It's like expecting >the police to intercept the burglar before he enters your home. Doesn't >happen very often.
Problem is that the SEC had all ready been tipped off that the guy was a crook. Big time. And they didn't act on the information.
