The Lower Merion School District is an extremely well heeled entity operating in an extremely well heeled community of mega McMansions. The School District has been quite controversial in the past, particularly in their manner of administration. It is said that the school system is run like a large corporation, with a haughty and arrogant board of directors that accepts little input from the parents of school children. The school administrators have admitted to some amount of "disrespect" that they have shown to parents and students of color in recent years. The school system administration is predominantly comprised of lawyers, not educators. The recent movement to put a stop to any lawsuit against the school system as related to the use of those webcams was initiated by and is being led by two lawyers who are also elected officials of the county where the school system operates.
