I am wondering if there is a way to run Conkeror without installing
XULRunner. I was thinking of highjacking a Firefox installation, for
example.
The reason I am asking is that installing XULRunner becomes more
painful over time. I have spent several hours trying to find a
solution for my MacBook (MacOS X 10.6), without success. The recent
prebuilt binaries don't work ("Mozilla XULRunner <Error>" is all I
ever got from them), and going back to an earlier version is a real
pain because I can't install an earlier release over a newer one, nor
properly uninstall. Installation through MacPorts fails because of
architecture-specific build problems on dependencies that I don't
really want to look at. Finally, I don't have the impression that
XULRunner development is anyone's priority at the moment. But I do
like Conkeror...
