I found the answer in the mailing list archive, in a discussion about Conkeror on Ubuntu 11.10 (https://www.mozdev.org/pipermail/conkeror/2011-October/002679.html). I tried this on the Mac and at first try it seems to work fine: /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefox-bin -app /path/to/conkeror/application.ini opens a Conkeror window that seems to work fine (I didn't do much with it yet, so I prefer to be careful). There are a few esthetic defects, such as the Firefox icon and the name "Firefox" in the Mac menu, but that's a price I am more than willing to pay in order to get rid of XULRunner installation. Is there any reason not to mention this installation option on the Conkeror Web site? If I were a newcomer to Conkeror today, I'd probably have given up because of the XULRunner trouble before ever experiencing Conkeror in action. I think it is important to tell everyone about the easier way to browsing bliss :-) Konrad. _______________________________________________ Conkeror mailing list [email protected] https://www.mozdev.org/mailman/listinfo/conkeror
