I'm not completely sure I understand the question, but I will take a shot.
Do you use Conkeror's GMail mode? If so, and you are wondering how to use
browsing keys like 'f' and 'g' while gmail-mode is in effect, the answer
is to prefix them by C-z. If you wanted to remove gmail-mode's consuming
of those keys altogether, you can undefine them in gmail_keymap, for
example:
undefine_key(gmail_keymap, "f");

You must have done either 'require("tab-bar");' or 'require("new-tabs");'
in your rc. Just remove the line and restart. To turn the tab bar on and
off without restarting, 'M-x tab-bar-mode'.
