That is suspicious. If you change to static addressing, the contents of
the save file should change accordingly. And again when you re-enable
DHCP. And the modified time should change more often than that, not to
mention the save file timestamp itself.
Is there anything else besides standard posix user and group names that
would mess with writing the file to disk?
