We need to discuss the pros and cons of each plugin and decide which one to
use.
Let's start with the unix plugin as I know a bit about it.
Pro-It works out of the box.
Pro-When you add/delete/password a user in SME it seamlessly and (almost)
instantaneously adds/deletes/passwords the user in zarafa.
Con-It is not very configurable as you can only pick a range of users/groups
which makes the global address book really messy.
Unless I can get the developers at zarafa to make it more configurable (I have
tried without success) then the unix plugin would not remain my first choice.
-------------
LDAP Plugin
Con-You must install experimental ldap packages to SME. This is almost a show
stopper for me. I don't think there has been enough testing on the ldap
packages yet.
Pro-If I am not mistaken, ldap auth will be the default (and maybe only) auth
method on SME8 (someone please correct me if I am wrong here). If we power
through and get ldap working on 7, then it will be a less troublesome upgrade
to 8.
------------
DB Plugin
Pro-The db plugin can be utilized via templates/actions/events to
add/delete/password users. I have ventured down this road but got stuck at the
password stage and ran out of time.
Pro-I *think* we can do all we need with this method.
Con-This method won't be the easiest.
