I think the second solution (altering the templates to change individual user's
procmailrc based on their individual Sieve property setting) is way better than
disabling mailsorting altogether if sieve service is present.
That way, procmail and sieve filters can peacefully coexist, with incoming
mails passing first through procmail's filters and - if no match is found
before the final delivery line in procmailrc - being handed to dovecot/sieve
afterwards.
If a new mail filter rule is created through the web interface, both
.procmailrc and .mailfilter are recreated for the user.
Did not test it on our system, but mailfilter therefore may need a similar
approach (last line of user's .maildir file says "to Maildir", so I figure at
this point a mail is also directly going into a user's inbox instead of being
further processed by dovecot/sieve).
